Metadata Remover for Images

Remove EXIF, XMP and IPTC metadata, including GPS location, device, dates and author fields, from a batch of images in one pass. Your files never leave your device.

Built for volume: product photos, real-estate listings, a folder of screenshots, or images going into a public document.

Drop images to inspect

JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, HEIC, and AVIF where browser metadata support allows.

The kinds of metadata it removes

EXIF (camera, settings, GPS, dates), XMP (editing history, author, ratings, often added by Lightroom or Photoshop), IPTC (captions, creator, copyright and contact details), and embedded thumbnails that can preserve an uncropped version of the photo.

Why a local metadata remover

The point of removing metadata is privacy, so sending the file to a third-party server first defeats the purpose. Every step here runs in your browser.

Three steps, zero servers.

Load

Add one photo or a batch

JPEG, PNG, and HEIC/HEIF where your browser supports it.

Inspect

See exactly what is embedded

Image Meta Stripper reads EXIF, GPS, ICC, XMP, author, and software fields directly in your browser.

Strip

Download a clean copy

Flagged fields are removed and a re-encoded file is saved, ready to share or post.

Most file tools send your files to someone else's server first. NoUpload doesn't.

For client work, ID scans, medical documents, unreleased product shots, or anything else you do not want sitting in a stranger's storage, the safer upload is the one that never happens.

File processing runs in your browser. Google Analytics records page views and anonymous tool-usage events, but NoUpload does not send filenames, metadata values, file sizes, image blobs, or other file details as analytics data.

  • Your files never leave your device
  • No account, sign-in, or email required
  • Analytics events record only which tool and page were used
  • No server-side file processing path

Don’t take our word for it. Check.

Anyone can claim files stay on your device. Here is how to confirm it yourself in under a minute, with tools already in your browser.

  1. Open the Network panel. Press F12 (Windows/Linux) or ⌥⌘I (Mac) and choose the Network tab.
  2. Process a file. Add an image and run any tool, then download the result.
  3. Read the requests. You will see page assets and small anonymous analytics pings. No request carries your image.

Or go further: load the page, switch off Wi-Fi, and use the tool. Processing still works, because it never needed a server.

Common questions

This tool handles images. For PDFs, use Remove Metadata from PDF, which also runs entirely in your browser. Word files are on the roadmap.
