Redact a PDF

Drag black boxes over names, account numbers, signatures or anything else, on any page, then export a PDF where the covered content is truly gone. Your PDF never leaves your device.

Drawing a black box in most PDF apps only covers text, which can still be copied out. Here every page is flattened to an image with the boxes burned in.

Why this is real redaction

A PDF page is layers of text, images and drawings. A black rectangle added in a typical editor is just one more layer on top, and the text underneath can still be selected, searched and copied.

NoUpload renders each page to an image, paints your boxes into the pixels, and builds a new PDF from those images. The output has no text layer, metadata, comments or earlier versions, so there is nothing underneath to recover.

The trade-off

Flattened pages are not text-searchable, and the file can be larger than the original. For documents you only need to share or print, that is usually fine. Pages are rendered at roughly 200 dpi, sharp for reading and printing.

Three steps, no upload.

Mark

Drag boxes over anything sensitive

On any page: names, numbers, signatures, photos.

Flatten

Burn the boxes into each page

Pages become images in this tab, so no text survives underneath.

The output is inspected again for metadata and hidden content.

Most file tools send your files to someone else's server first. NoUpload doesn't.

For client work, ID scans, medical documents, unreleased product shots, or anything else you do not want sitting in a stranger's storage, the safer upload is the one that never happens.

File processing runs in your browser. Google Analytics records page views and anonymous tool-usage events, but NoUpload does not send filenames, metadata values, file sizes, image blobs, or other file details as analytics data.

  • Your files never leave your device
  • No account, sign-in, or email required
  • Analytics events record only which tool and page were used
  • No server-side file processing path

Don’t take our word for it. Check.

Anyone can claim files stay on your device. Here is how to confirm it yourself in under a minute, with tools already in your browser.

  1. Open the Network panel. Press F12 (Windows/Linux) or ⌥⌘I (Mac) and choose the Network tab.
  2. Process a file. Add an image and run any tool, then download the result.
  3. Read the requests. You will see page assets and small anonymous analytics pings. No request carries your image.

Or go further: load the page, switch off Wi-Fi, and use the tool. Processing still works, because it never needed a server.

Common questions

No. The exported pages are images with black pixels where your boxes were. The original text is not in the file in any form.
