Remove EXIF Data from Photos

See exactly which EXIF fields a photo carries, from camera model and lens to timestamps and GPS, then strip them and download a clean copy. Your files never leave your device.

Works on a whole batch at once, which is handy for listing photos, client galleries or anything you are about to post publicly.

What EXIF data contains

EXIF is the block of metadata your camera or phone writes into each photo. It typically includes the device make and model, lens, exposure settings, the date and time the photo was taken, and often the GPS coordinates of where you were standing.

Some apps add more: editing software, author or copyright fields, a unique camera serial number, or a small embedded thumbnail of the original, uncropped image.

Does social media remove EXIF?

Large platforms usually strip EXIF from public images, but email attachments, messaging apps in "original quality" mode, marketplaces, forums and file-sharing links frequently pass the file through untouched. Removing it yourself is the only way to be sure.

Three steps, zero servers.

Image Meta Stripper reads EXIF, GPS, ICC, XMP, author, and software fields directly in your browser.

Flagged fields are removed and a re-encoded file is saved, ready to share or post.

Most file tools send your files to someone else's server first. NoUpload doesn't.

For client work, ID scans, medical documents, unreleased product shots, or anything else you do not want sitting in a stranger's storage, the safer upload is the one that never happens.

File processing runs in your browser. Google Analytics records page views and anonymous tool-usage events, but NoUpload does not send filenames, metadata values, file sizes, image blobs, or other file details as analytics data.

  • Your files never leave your device
  • No account, sign-in, or email required
  • Analytics events record only which tool and page were used
  • No server-side file processing path

Don’t take our word for it. Check.

Anyone can claim files stay on your device. Here is how to confirm it yourself in under a minute, with tools already in your browser.

  1. Open the Network panel. Press F12 (Windows/Linux) or ⌥⌘I (Mac) and choose the Network tab.
  2. Process a file. Add an image and run any tool, then download the result.
  3. Read the requests. You will see page assets and small anonymous analytics pings. No request carries your image.

Or go further: load the page, switch off Wi-Fi, and use the tool. Processing still works, because it never needed a server.

Common questions

Removing metadata does not change what the image looks like. NoUpload re-encodes the image to drop every metadata block; quality stays high and dimensions are unchanged.
